Saw him with Zawinul a couple of years ago and it was insane, really beyond his MD performance.

But one of the many things I rem distinctly was his ability to absolutely burn the ride or hats during very uptempo [aka break-neck] swing, no doubt.

To truly apprec NT is to see him live w say, Zawinul's group. Fantastic player.

I have a Joe Zawinul Syndicate dvd(New Morning, Paris 2004) with the great Nathaniel Townsley!
It's full digital(directly recorded from tv to a dvd standalone recorder).
